TOUR DESCRIPTION:

We pick you up at the scheduled time in your hotel and direct to Cancun, during the trip our guide will explain the itinerary, information about whale sharks and its habitat. Once we arrive to the pier, you can relax and have breakfast, then we will depart to the whale shark area to start our search, once spotted, we will start with the snorkeling activity, with the maximum of one ship per whale shark and we will swim in groups of two people per guide. After swimming, we will serve different sandwiches, fruit, water and soft drinks and we will return to Isla Mujeres for lunch. After an hour of relaxing or swimming in the fantastic beach Playa Norte in Islas Mujeres, we will return to the marina at about 02:30-3PM. During the tour, our guides will provide you with information about the fauna of this beautiful ecosystem; they will explain security measures and let you have a wonderful time.

A unique experience in A MAYAN VILLAGE

Located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, this village will offer you a glimpse of the culture Maya and will welcome you in its majestic nature. It is part of an ecotourism project where culture and adventure are perfectly combined thanks to the care of a mayan community.
You’ll enjoy 4 amazing but different cenotes, where you can do different activities. During the tour of the park’s trails, you will have the opportunity to appreciate a great variety of wildlife, such as: birds of different species, insects, turtles, cenote fish, iguanas, monkeys, among others.

ACTIVITIES

ADVENTURE IN 4 DIFFERENT CENOTES:

CUEVA: Open cenote, surrounded by abundant vegetation, being the first stop within the park, is the perfect point to start the tour, as it has a Tyrolean liana style, with a free fall of 4 meters. This cenote has a depth 8 meters, so they can jump without fear of hurting themselves.

PIRANAS: semi-open Cenote; the cavern is about 30 meters long, the deepest area is 15 meters deep. With formations such as stalactites and stalagmites and surrounded by wild flowers and orchids. This cenote gets its name because it is inhabited by Rufa Claw fish, which are responsible for removing the dead skin , while you are admiring the rock formations. This cenote features a window in the cavern roof which offers a beautiful light effect on sunnny days.

NAVAL:  Largest open cenote in the Riviera Maya, with 300mts of width and 120 meters at the widest part, the deepest part being 18 meters. It offers 3 lines of zip line: 2 short (110 mts each) and 1 long (220 mts), this last leaves you at the opposite side of the cenote. Enjoy the return, paddling in a kayak along the current, while listening to the birdsong or observing the cormorants diving in to find their food,
turtles and waterlilies that grow from underwater on the surface.

AZUL:  Open Cenote, is a natural pool that has almost 50 meters of extension and with a maximum depth of 6 meters. Its colors: emerald, turquoise and you’ll be conquered by its crystalin waters. Ideal for snorkeling and admiring its beautiful underwater gardens. This cenote is connected to Naval and its charm comes from two water streams that allow it to always be kept clean of sediment from the leaves falling into the water.

CULTURE:
Walking through the Community, you will appreciate the typical Mayan architecture and life of the inhabitants. You will enter a typical house where you will observe different handcrafts locally made and discover the process of fabrication of hammocks and necklaces. You will be explained the preparation of  maya cocoa and honey melipone, as well as the importance of bees.

Itinerary

Here is a rough itinerary for the day :

0:00 pm – Pick at your hotel (actual time to be confirmed).

2:00 pm – Departure from Tulum village towards the Sian Ka’an Biosphere, we will drive 20 minutes next to the beach passing by the beautiful zone of eco-hotels in Tulum.

2:30 pm – We reach the entrance of the nature reserve, we will drive 20 minutes on a dirt road until we reach the mangroves where we begin the boat tour.

3:00 pm – We start our boat tour from the mangroves in the direction of the canal float activity. We will have plenty of purified water and snacks onboard. Along the way, we will admire the beautiful scenery of the mangroves and some birdwatching opportunities.

3:30 pm – Arrival at the freshwater lagoon of Chunyaxche, here is where we start the canal float by flowing downstream the river.

4:00 pm – End of the canal float. Healthy snacks of tropical fruit, and Yucatecan tamales by the side of the freshwater river before heading to the Caapechen saltwater lagoon.

4:30 pm – Arrival at the Caapechen lagoon to encounter manatees in the wild.

5:00 pm – Navigate out from the mangroves in Boca Paila towards the pristine Caribbean beaches of Sian Ka’an.

5:00 pm – Before heading out to

5:00 pm – We leave the mangrove for the Caribbean sea to discover pristine beaches and enjoy a nature hike.

5:30 pm – We arrive at a bird nesting island at sunset where the boat shuts down the engines while enjoying the best place for birdwatching.

6:30 pm – End of boat tour and drive back to the village of Tulum.

7:30 pm – Arrival at Tulum village, drive back to the hotel.

8:30 pm – Arrival at the hotel, end of the tour.

We will start the boat tour deep in the mangroves located 40 kms or 25 miles from Punta Allen. This means that we will avoid 2 hours and a half in the bumpy road from Tulum to Punta Allen, and that we will be able to experience the most pristine natural surroundings of Sian Ka’an.
